1434582 2017-04-26 00:15:00 Recently, pop-up ads have been appearing on lower right hand corner of my PC screen periodically and are proving very hard to remove without accepting the "Click here to download" box. The latest is for an upgrade to a more expensive version of Ccleaner.
I find this persistent push push push a proper PITA.
Is there a thingy to prevent these ?
Cheers

1434583 2017-04-26 03:17:00 Disable it from within the app. Google "turn off Ccleaner popup" it's the first result.

I don't think there is any other way to block these other than to change the settings in the app responsible or remove it. Adds are the.price you pay for free software.

1434585 2017-04-26 04:22:00 You sure its Actually Ccleaner and not some rouge / Malware related software ??

Never seen ccleaner pop up with any prompts for payment, only to advise when a newer version is available or if you have to much crap and have not bothered to run it.

1434586 2017-04-26 06:37:00 Thanks Wai. Perhaps I didn't really explain properly what the pop up was.
It was simply promoting an upgrade to the higher level of Ccleaner.
The annoying bit was my inability to remove the window without clicking on the "download" button which then brought up all the speil about upgrading to the premium version. I have a feeling that similar pop up has happened before but for a different product.

The only pop up you should get is either one saying theres X number of MB/GB that can be cleaned, or a pop up saying there is a newer version and that's simply a click of yes or no, or close it.
