1434403 2017-04-19 21:55:00 It seems I have been blocked from sending emails to addesses at our family domain. I can send elsewhere OK and other family members can send to the domain without a problem. It's just me! (It's easy to test - I just send to myself)

Our son (who manages the domain and says it's paid to 2019) says misk.com is rejecting email from paradise.net.nz because paradise.net.nz has a poor reputation

The undelivered messages come back with
Subject: Delivery Notification: Delivery has failed
Date: Tue, 18 Apr 2017 20:15:36 +1200 (NZST)
Reason: SMTP transmission failure has occurred
Diagnostic code: smtp;554 Failure Poor Mail Server Reputation: www.senderscore.org
Remote system: dns;smtp.misk.com ........

Has anyone heard of such a thing happening?

I have been with Paradise since it was Clear, now Vodafone. To manage my messages on the server I have to login with my email name and a p/ in front of it for Paradise. This says "legacy" to me and I'm wondering if Vodafone are neglecting it

1434404 2017-04-19 22:11:00 If you want, PM me your email Address that's bouncing and I can send a test Message Via our paradise account to see if it going bouncy bouncy :) wainuitech (129)
1434405 2017-04-19 22:23:00 It happens. Not so much any more .
ISP hosted email sometimes gets blacklisted by overly anal email filtering services . Sometimes it clears itself after a few days, sometimes not .

Cant see it only any blacklists, poor rep : yes
www.senderbase.org

It could be a signal to move on from an obsoleted, defunct ISP's email .
Given its been sold, & resold, & resold, I doubt Voda will care . Voda are now they only people who can do something about it .

"This says "legacy" to me and I'm wondering if Vodafone are neglecting it "
Yes . As expected . Move on . :-)

1434406 2017-04-19 22:35:00 Maybe related to a call I got from someone having trouble with a clearnet mail account?

Told him to go gmail and/or ring Voda!!

1434407 2017-04-19 22:47:00 Paradise mail was having a problems a few days ago. Had to call Vodafone a few times, they changed a couple of things and away it goes again.

The did advise on some settings changes to paradise servers, which seems to work as well.

You change the smtp.paradise.net.nz to smtp.clear.net.nz and the user name changes, EG: original = myusername change to p/myusername

1434409 2017-04-19 23:33:00 I've looked into the report and this SMTP server (smtp5.clear.net.nz) has been used by someone who was trying to pose as Apple Store and sent fake iTunes account bills.

Maybe set your smtp server up as smtpX.clear.net.nz where X is a number and you may find an SMTP server not blacklisted.

1434410 2017-04-19 23:47:00 smtp servers 2 to 5 are all blacklisted or have been blacklisted before. Vodafone will need to sort it. Maybe you need to find an alternative SMTP server to use in this case. Kame (312)
1434411 2017-04-20 07:35:00 Thanks guys (I've been out all day)

I presume "moving on" as 1101 suggests means going to gmail or similar

Two questions if I did that:

- could people I converse with automatically be made to think that I am still using my family address? (so that nobody has to change how to contact me)

- is it possible to automatically save all email traffic locally forever? I do that with Thunderbird (have found it useful maybe 3 times. in 15 years)

not sure what you mean by family address. to vague
is your email ..@paradise.co.nz or similar , ..@your_surname.co.nz (family adress ?)

save all emails locally : yes . Not sure how to export with Tbird (google). POP3 will save a local copy, imap can be set to do that as well .
so , export emails (or find the mail store folder) , save those to a backup. Allways have a external backup in case the PC gets corrupted etc.
