| 1483495 | 2022-01-13 18:48:00 | I have a WD network hard drive hook up to my main computer using a RJ45 so my other 2 computer can see it. I disconnected the drive from my main computer by accident. I put in the software that came with the drive into my main computer but still can't see it from my main computer? How can I re connect it? | lostsoul62 (16011) | ||

There's usually two settings for networked (Basically NAS drives) either Static, which would be the better one, or dynamic (router issues the IP) 1st you need to make sure its actually connected. What you can try is download and run IPScan https://www.advanced-ip-scanner.com/ Run it, when complete it will show every attached device on your network, assuming the WD drive is actually working and attached then you can see its IP address,. Open a run Window (Windows key + R) type in the Address of the WD Drive, click OK or press enter, and it should open the location. you would type \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx ( with X being the WD address) example picture / address below: 11250 |
