Just tried to set it up from my phone, after keying in www.aka.ms/yourpc, a window pops up, asking:

Allow Your Phone Companion to take pictures and record video .. Allow , Only this time, and Don't Allow.

Should I select Allow?

Any of you guys has set it up ?

1483201 2021-12-30 20:15:00 Haven't tried it on W11, but on W10, when it first came out setup, and if you don't allow then there will be problems with the functions.

Some will say not to give MS access, but that's basically what you are trying to do in the 1st place.

If worried about sharing data then turn off the phone and throw away, Google and Apple ( android / iPhone) know everything about you already.

Its also better to setup from your computer to the phone not the phone to computer.

Watch this video www.youtube.com Other videos on the right hand side as well if you want full instructions

1483203 2022-01-02 03:39:00 Every major update windows tries to convince me to do this, tried it once and found no use for it. Do you find it useful ? Not having as go, genuinely curious what it does that people use. dugimodo (138)
1483204 2022-01-02 04:50:00 Yes.
1. Transfer of photos - Phone <--> PC
2. Send/ receive text messages from PC
3. Make /receive calls from PC ( haven't tried it, yet)

There maybe more ...

1483205 2022-01-03 06:24:00 Ok, none of that interests me so I'll continue ignoring it.

1. I use a cable
2. I just use the phone to send texts
3. same as 2.

I also set my tablet up to do 2. and 3. a while ago (think it's a samsung feature) and then never used it for either.
