| 1485473 | 2022-04-12 00:03:00 | that should be planned manned landing The SLS is so ridiculously expensive , this may never happen . Dont forget, USA govt is broke, they have no money, literally living on borrowed cash . A moon landing could be the 1st thing to be cancelled after budget cuts . Just look at all the proposed missions that were cancelled over the last 50 years eg : US Presidents have called for Mars landings , cancelled before they got started So NASA's SLS, which throws multi million $ engines into the sea each time, its a huge waste of money . Private US companies, with reusable rockets ,will do it cheaper . Only a matter of time before NASA's SLS & moon landings gets cancelled . NASA may never go back to the moon in the foreseeable future, just because the huuuge costs with no real benefit They also need to build a replacement space station , as ISS is well past its use by date :-( Wheres the money coming from ? Daily spending on the astronauts is also expensive . Even the Yanks are finding it hard to afford: Feeding one person on the ISS costs $2,000 per day while securing provisions to and from the space station is a whopping $88,000 to $164,000 per person, per day . And when it comes to procuring the necessary support for space dwellers from NASA those numbers increase by several millions . :horrified |

| 1485475 | 2022-04-14 21:39:00 | What do they even do with it? Apparently they plan to move it out of orbit and burn up in the atmosphere with the remainder landing in the Pacific: theconversation.com |
