| 1484007 | 2022-01-31 03:31:00 | Last week I made the mistake of installing a Win 11 update that was "now available" and it screwed up my desktop, hid files in the Recycle Bin and required restoring the system from a backup file to get things back to the way I want them. Now I keep getting windows asking me to install Microsoft Power Automate that will automate something. I don't want it and I don't want to be constantly asked to install it. How can I stop the thing from hassling me? I am getting the impression that the Windows developers at Microsoft have run out of useful things to do, and so are inventing useless changes in order to keep their jobs. |

Power Automate is a service that you can use to automate repetitive tasks to bring efficiencies to any organizations. Only you can say what that may be. No One knows what programs/ options you have installed. As for the W11 update "Screwing" up your desktop, its not uncommon for a new Upgrade to remove incompatible programs. "IF" these are actually compatible then there's something else going on that hasn't been mentioned. The above really isn't much help, BUT when theres no information its not easy to "guess" and get it right :) |

Perhaps something planted there by Russian hackers? Like you, I Googled Power Automate, but I didn't get anything useful from that. I've had two more prompts in the last hour, so I shall see what happens when they get impatient for a response! Over the last few months I've had Sharepoint wanting access, and allow it, but never had Power Automate raise its head. Can see it being helpful if there are receptive tasks to do. Did find the following Video, kind of shows using www.youtube.com Also another on the MS site that explains it. docs.microsoft.com as well as Beginners Guide www.youtube.com Whats causing / tripped it to want to download, I dont know, only thing I can think of is there's something on the computer that's prompting it. Every thing I found says you have to manually download it. |

It's been like that for a long time. I've updated my Linux a number of times. YOu choose. It asks, or not...up to you. You can choose which things get updated, or not. Kernel is separate. I've done that a couple of times too. Never had an issue. Libre was updated last time and it's changed, but no issues. So much nicer.... |

| 1484014 | 2022-02-04 02:16:00 | That basically sums up Windows 8, 10 & 11. While I can sympathise with that, it probably is a bit hard. The software universe is constantly expanding and I suppose operating systems have to keep up. This Power Automate thing irritated me by the way it took over my screen with the demand that I download and install it, not once but several times in the same session, with no obvious prompting from me. After my most recent post on Monday it has left me alone without further bother. But when I recently checked the installed apps in the System App, there it was, Power Automate installed by Microsoft on 1st February! At least it had the decency to have an Uninstall button which seems to have worked. |
