| 740815 | 2009-01-21 05:49:00 | Hi, put a computer together yesterday and windows was installed with the mobo and video drivers . Today upon start up prior to getting into windows it says CPU over temperature warning, press F1 to resume . Much of the time it cannot even get into bios without a warning . In the bios: CPU temperature 100 degrees celcius . Mobo is 23 degrees celcius . 2008 RPM is the CPU fan . Sometimes 2800 . Power fan is around 680 RPM . I have changed the settings to turbo speed for both and it has only drop the CPU temperature to 98/99 degrees celcius . HSF: Intel OEM . No overclocking . CPU: Intel Q8200 . Mobo: ASUS P5Q . 2 sticks of DDR 800 . 2x SATA HDD . DVDRW was taken out, cables pushed aside - made no difference . Case: Antec Atlas 550, 550W PSU . Has rear case fan but no front case fan . Thermal paste - Intel pre applied . Cheers . |

| 740816 | 2009-01-21 06:05:00 | Did you connect the fan to the header on the mobo? You probably did or it wont boot.. Check that the fan / heatsink is on properly |

| 740817 | 2009-01-21 06:11:00 | Hi Nomad, I had a similar issue when I built my new pc a few months back. Intel E8400 and Asus motherboard P5KPL-CM. Had the cpu temperature warning come up at 100 degree Celsius. I fixed it up doing a BIOS update. Install windows and Asus has a BIOS update utility tool on the CD for the motherboard, install that utility and use it to update your BIOS to a new version. Its pretty simple and straight forward. | 740820 | 2009-01-21 06:28:00 | Since your mobo supports EZ-Flash 2 (which is similar to mine the P5Q SE/R) Go into the BIOS and update the BIOS that way (tools / EZ-Flash 2) Put the update on a floppy / USB flash drive (unzip it first) |
