2009-01-21 00:04:00 | In PC World (pcworld.co.nz) today: "...cuts of up to 40% for its quad-core chips." How long does it usually take for price cuts to hit NZ dealers? Thanks

2009-01-21 00:19:00 | Depends on retailers I think. And the pressure on them from demanding customers. | qazwsxokmijn (102) | |
2009-01-21 00:21:00 | Probably a long time at the moment due to the falling $NZ :crying | CYaBro (73) | |
2009-01-21 00:35:00 | I doubt it be much. Low NZD. I mean hey before it was 80c to the USD and now 55c or around that. Pricespy stores should be v competitive anyway. I think savings are may be seen at the retail front, perhaps less on e-stores. | Nomad (952) | |
2009-01-21 00:36:00 | Narrrrrrrr Some of the new pricing is active already - When speaking to one of my vendors last week they said the new shipment of CPU's arrive on the 19th Jan (couple of days ago) and they will have the new lower price. Some they wont be reordering - for example Now a E7300 is only $3 cheaper than a E7400. Just checked and the new prices are in place from the suppliers already, so when the shops will change will be up to each shop. Edited: Was also told HDD's are going up in price. Another exmple - the Q8200 From Ascent (www.ascent.co.nz)= $646.29 --- I can sell that for less than $400 now.

2009-01-21 01:45:00 | Depends on retailers I think. No it doesn't. It depends on the wholesalers. They are the ones that drop the price second, when they get their new lots in. Then we get to pass on those price cuts.
