741313 2009-01-23 02:40:00 Anyone know any stores in NZ that have these devices, I would prefer not to have to bring on in via Amazon.

Sony NZ dont seem to like responding to emails.

741314 2009-01-23 03:51:00 These devices are not sold in NZ, either by Sony or anyone else. Your only option is importing from the states - B&H Photo (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/) is a good source for these. Erayd (23)
741315 2009-01-23 21:16:00 Cheers, that site has them at a nice price. I really dont get Sony at times, their habit of restricting products to countries is odd from a sales perspective. kersonan (13264)
741316 2009-01-24 07:31:00 Amazon (and its kindle) are just as bad...

If it weren't for the sony connect ebook store, I would hazard a guess that we may have seen them here in NZ.
Basically I think NZ is too small for Sony to bother negotiating a deal with a local bookseller (eg: whitcoulls) or local booksellers aren't interested in selling ebooks. And they can't use the US store, as the NZ publishers/distributers would kick up a huge stink (and people might start wondering why NZ book prices are so high...)

Aah, but we can use fictionwise, ebooks.com, booksonboard etc just fine. People should be wondering already .

741318 2009-01-24 08:53:00 True, but for new books especially, the kindle and sony stores are often actually quite a bit cheaper than even the other ebook stores.. Sherman (9181)
