| 741014 | 2009-01-22 03:30:00 | Everything will still be there - just the user profile is damaged and you cant see it. give this a try - 1st Show the REAL Administrator Account - Log in as normal From the Start menu, simply right-click on Computer and choose Manage. Next, expand Local Users and Groups and select the Users folder. The final step is to right-click on the Administrator login and choose properties. Clear the Account is Disabled checkbox and you have now enabled your Administrator account. Restart the PC - log into the Admin account which will now be showing. Create a new user from the Control Panel /user accounts (different name) Reboot and log into the new account, then reboot again, this time log into the Admin account then go to C:\users Folder - hopefully your old account will be there as well as the new one - transfer the data across to the new user account you just made ( it should be showing) - once all data is transfered, reboot, log into the new user account hopefully the data is there then you can delete the old damaged account if you wish. - PS once all up and running you can disable the administrator account again by doing the same as before but disable. Edited: Sometimes you can run system restore back to when it was Ok and that will fix it as well - sometimes works sometimes not. |
