| 742434 | 2009-01-27 19:46:00 | Hi guys, ANZ direct sent us a USB modem due to handshake issues on dial-up with our previous US Robotics modem. Now while the connection is good, quick and stable now, every morning, we need to pull the USB cable, reconnect and go through installing the damn drivers, as the the PC reports the modem not present on the com port. This has happened 3 times now, the last time I tried a different port. Any idea's why this is happening? |

Once you find out if its the PC or modem - theres half the Battle - other wise have you tried to see if there are any firmware updates for the Modem - or could simply be a dud modem. |

I just orders 3 new ones, I may give her a new build and see what happens, however, I'm curious as to why the PC is failing USB detection on a cold boot. I have swap to a front port to see if it happens again tomorrow..... |
