741887 2009-01-25 08:17:00 My motherboard (in my sig) can support AM2+ socket cpus, but on the gigabyte site it says

"*Note: If you install AMD AM2+ CPU on AM2 motherbord, the system bus speed will downgrade from HT3.0(5200MHz) to HT1.0(2000 MT/s) spec; however, the frequency of AM2+ CPU will not be impacted. Please refer "CPU Support List" for more information. "

How will this impact the processor and the system overall? apart from the freq.

This is what I want to put in: www.computerlounge.co.nz

741889 2009-01-25 11:29:00 Well, no, but it is a fairly new cpu and who knows how often they go around testing CPUs. It supports all of the Phenom X3/X4 cpus but has no mention of the Phenom II models. Netsukeninja (13296)

It will make the communication between components slower as per the bus speed. But whether you yourself would notice is another thing...........
