741624 2009-01-24 07:02:00 I downloaded Service Pack 3 for Windows XP

It had Windows Live messenger 9.

When I open windows live messenger it says

C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger\msnmsgr.exe

This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect.Reinstalling the application may fix this problem

I tried running setup again and install it on top but it doesn't work.It says that the software is already installed

I can't remove it because its not located in add/remove programs

Any ideas?

741627 2009-01-24 08:26:00 IIRC WLM9 is still in beta build and still prob buggy, so I would recommend you try running REVO uninstaller to remove it, if all else fails then just delete the folder in Program Files and run ccleaner to get rid of the leftovers. Blam (54)
741628 2009-01-24 08:50:00 Not in beta anymore blam. It's been out as final for about a month now :)

There is a bug that I've found in the final code - if you have logged on to 2 different computers, then change the computer name of one of them, the "You are logged on in 2 places" message shows the old computer name.... not a biggie but a mistake I think!!
