741601 2009-02-04 00:57:00 Most of the issues with the PressF1 pages are caused by slow adservers (hence timeout messages on T/C). Disable javascript (which prevents fetching most of the remote ads) and/or block the evil servers and suddenly things are a hell of a lot faster... Erayd (23)

With javascript disabled it makes a huge difference, loads in a split second.

You will need to remember to turn it back on again though as so many sites need javascript and are unusable without it.

741604 2009-02-04 01:54:00 I use Opera - so it's possible to disable javascript on a per-site basis. Just right-click the page, then click 'Edit site preferences. The javascript disable option is on the "Scripting" tab. Erayd (23)

I don't like Opera but might just use it for PF1 with javascript disabled.

741608 2009-03-02 22:11:00 That "adserver" site seems to be the one holding me up.

Has FFox already got an ad-blocker built in or do I have to get something else from somewhere - if so where?

I'm using FF 3.0.6 with Vista Ultimate SP1

741609 2009-03-02 22:21:00 Adblock Plus, block the adtech server, or use Noscript.

Privoxy works also

741610 2009-03-02 23:34:00 Hi Blam6

I've had a look at the suggested software and that seems fine. Just out of interest how would i "block the adtech server"?
