742544 2009-01-28 08:21:00 If it's genuine like you say it is, then ring MS and get them to sort it, Won't be a problem if it is.

Don’t you believe it. :crying

I had huge problems when my Motherboard died.

I replaced the Motherboard and all hell broke loose.

So I ring Microsoft and they tell me my OS, Office and everything else will need to be replaced because they were tied to my now defunct Motherboard.

Like Bl..dy H..l.

Anyway, the good news is Google supplied the answers and all is now sweet. ;)

And all the UPDATES are turned OFF!

742545 2009-01-28 19:17:00 Never tell them you replaced the motherboard or anything, just say you are reinstalling windows! Worked for me last time i tried, as i am always downgrading Vista business x64 to win XP x64 Pro for our Solidworks users. And i only have one XP pro x64 key to use. Gobe1 (6290)
742546 2009-01-29 00:45:00 I never install WGA of any sort because of the issues surrounding legitimate versions being marked as pirate.

I don't need any extra crap that would do absolutely nothing positive for me.

742547 2009-01-29 04:57:00 Ive had issues MS telling me that my pc was already registered after I had changed a graphics card or similar, Have just rang MS and solved the issue everytime. radium (8645)
742548 2009-01-30 02:43:00 Don't install any updates that have anything to do with WGA.

The problem is not with WGA, it's that they always get it wrong and cause inconveniences to us genuine users. They will annoy the heck out of you if they found out (or mis-found out) that you are using illegitimate Windows. Or Office, or Flight Simulator, or Halo, or whatever.
