| 546228 | 2007-05-02 05:36:00 | I'm with Metla on this, more crap less watching. Nothing new or even worth looking at. No wonder the rentals of DVD's have gone up. :2cents: | intel hunter (6666) | ||
| 546229 | 2007-05-02 05:44:00 | As much as I think sky is a waste of money I'm still not sure if Freeview will do any better. I think sport especially when we're involved should be FTA and live. I shouldn't have to spend $16 on top of the $47 a month to watch the black caps or the All blacks play live, also not to mention the super 14 and Air NZ NPC. Sky are just as bad as Telecom in a way and I think that needs to change. :2cents: |

If Freeview will work with a DVB-S card in my TV PC then I will most likely have both  as I have two sky dishes on the roof so could use one for Freeview. |

| 546231 | 2007-05-02 06:47:00 | you would do this for the basic reason of getting the other 18 channels still to come as well as all the existing ones you already have with sky, also sky may decide to not carry tv1 2 3 in the future you never know. | Hitech (9024) | ||
| 546232 | 2007-05-02 08:02:00 | I know you can use your Sky dish to get Freewiew but technically the Sky dish belongs to them, and aparently Sky is going to start taking Sky dishes down if people arn't using them for Sky. Which wouldn't suprise me, as a company I don't like Sky (they are right up there with Telecom-or down there). But I can understand if they do start doing this. |

No they are not, Sky have said they are fine with it . It costs Sky far more to remove a dish than they are worth . Sky have a record of all locations where they have officially installed dishes . They can cross check how many are subscribers and how many are actually unused (not subbed to Sky) See current Sky promotion "Unused sky dish? get it switched back on for only $49" |

It's not the expense of taking the dishes down, it's lost revenue for Sky if the dish is used for something else . I think legally Sky would have a hard time going onto someone's property without their consent to remove a dish . For instance the house I just got had a dish already there . . . it's screwed to the roof and like any other attached chattel it's mine . I've never had Sky at this address and never signed any agreement with Sky to say the dish is theirs . |

I think legally Sky would have a hard time going onto someone's property without their consent to remove a dish. For instance the house I just got had a dish already there... it's screwed to the roof and like any other attached chattel it's mine.thats just it. by law anythting attached to the house becomes part ofthe house owners propetry I've never had Sky at this address and never signed any agreement with Sky to say the dish is theirs. actually you did. the sky contract you signed on install (whether you sighned it or not!) has a part in it about the dish being skys blah blah which of course we know it isn't. |
