| 545737 | 2007-05-01 01:47:00 | Right now I am looking at all the races so far...the US is in very good standing right now at flight 11...let's see what happens. Sounds like the US skipper has some Australian in him..he speaks with a very strange accent. Did you see the S. Africans break that spinnaker? He's a NZer, Chris Dickson. Most people on all the boats sailing are NZers now. A pity Team NZ don't have the money to get the cream of the crop back. We may have a competitive boat, but I don't think we have got the best sailing team. |

| 545738 | 2007-05-01 06:43:00 | ... I got "live" pictures, but nothing is moving ... is it supposed to be a streaming site? ... That's how it is, Joe. Watching yacht racing is exciting, just like watching paint dry. It's said to be the only "sport" which gains from fast-motion playback. | Graham L (2) | ||

Anyway it seems the Kiwis will stuff things up again. As long as the Yanks don't get it I could not give a hoot what happens. |

| 545742 | 2007-05-01 10:10:00 | In my view the Americas cup should be like the A1 GP racing. All the boats should be designed and built the same. Then it is up to the crew to win or lose. |

We now have a huge industry generating mega millions and umpteen jobs. | Greg (193) | ||
| 545746 | 2007-05-01 16:09:00 | What an ignorant bunch you are . I find the Americas Cup alot more exciting than cricket and rugby put it that way because its not so much a game of Brawn, but also of skill . The Americas Cup in the short amount of time it was here brought in Billions of dollars in revenue from not just tourism, Oracle subsequently set up an office here, many superyachts were built etc . $34 Million pales in comparison . Interms of New Zealands chances, considering we are up against 3 teams with budgets over $200 Million each and almost unlimited resources we are faring rather well . Oracle has 20 out of 37 Sailors are NZer's not to mention the Base Staff . We actually have a real opportunity to challenger Alinghi in the final if our racing is anything to go by . We have sailed consistently and well, although it will be a tight semi finals . |
