545483 2007-05-19 00:39:00 It never ceases to amaze me that people even consider using Telecom for their network provider, big is not beautiful when you are talking about networks, even Telecom seem to not understand this. The reason you are noticing better speeds (and remember they said "as fast as your line will allow"?) is because people are going to other providers and contention rates are approaching reasonable levels. What this means is that Telecom "over promised" to get market share and shot themselves in the foot by overloading the network. By refusing to use the local peering exchanges Telecom, effectively, broke the network by pushing local traffic through the trans Tazman pipe thus slowing things down for the whole country just to improve their bottom line profit. Accountants should not run networks. JackStraw (6573)

545488 2007-05-19 04:11:00 And my post was about how "GO Large" still stinks. OK, but seing as the upload speed is FS it makes the upload not applicable to Go Large... The_End_Of_Reality (334)
545489 2007-05-19 06:42:00 I get 2mbps on the old plan where as I had 1.5mbps on the Go Large plan. I would much prefer 1.5mbps and a cap four times bigger :( trinsic (6945)
545490 2007-05-19 08:37:00 I get 2mbps on the old plan where as I had 1.5mbps on the Go Large plan. 545491 2007-05-20 07:20:00 I actually wished i signed up with go large when it was still available.

Im in a flat with 6 computers connected to the net. All downloading and it absolutly destroys our 30gb cap with XNET.

i found xnet's connection pretty average to be honest, but i think its just the exhange that we are on, and it seems that they are pretty overloaded in Dunedin.

Moved over to ihug last week and my speeds are so much better. Changed to the broadband 3 plan.
