546712 2007-05-03 20:21:00 I was just wondering. Are there anyway to have parcels being posted overseas to me using a different courier like Fastway couriers or nz couriers instead of NZ courier post or maybe fedex?

If so how would you go about not letting NZ post deliver my parcels?

Thanks

546713 2007-05-03 20:34:00 You can't. NZ Post/Courierpost holds the local contract to deliver for the major overseas courier firms. somebody (208)
546714 2007-05-03 20:48:00 Wouldn't help anyway. They'd do exactly the same thing.

Get them sent somewhere else if you're worried.
BTW how many have you lost so far? Out of a total of how many?

546715 2007-05-04 01:36:00 NA just that

I bought something off trademe.Fastway courier actually locked on my door in the hostel unlike courier post where they just leave it outside the manager's office where it can be stolen. The courier post driver signs the parcel even though it states my name.Im the receiver so was thinking changing a different courier

546716 2007-05-04 03:12:00 Plan A:
Lurk around the office, every time the courier post driver signs your delivery slip. kick him. (As long as he's not a kid.) Paint his van purple, and put hedgehogs in his trousers. Explain carefully that this will hurt him more than it's hurting you. Eventually, he will learn that you are not happy with his behaviour, and just drop your parcels in the sea. :(

Plan B:
Leave a parcel addressed to the courier post driver at the office. In it put half a biscuit with a note saying the other half is at your room, and suggesting that since he is going to be calling at your room anyway, he might as well drop your parcel there.

Plan C:
Accept that when you and your supplier go for the rock-bottom price, you can expect the rock-bottom service. Why should the courier go chasing you when he could earn exactly the same fee for dealing with people who do not have difficult or non-standard arrangements ? (You have a few parcels a week, he delivers hundreds; if every one of those hundreds takes 2 minutes extra, his family is going to see a lot less of him, and he won't get any extra money for the extra work.)
Maybe if you and the driver speak together, something could be worked out that suits you both?

546718 2007-05-04 06:32:00 How that DHL actually own parts of NZ post or was it NZ couriers??? You can definitely kiss your request goodbye. Though I think Fastway have the contract to deliver parcels here for atleast one major overseas carrier. Call them and ask. beeswax34 (63)

This isn't on - you got complain bigtime to CourierPost.

I did and they said they have the authority to do that.

But now they leave a card and also I change to my post office address to pick it up

Is there fedex in NZ?
