but just a bit confused about changing tolls

what exactly happen? how does it affect my telecom bill? often sites tell you nothing much happens..you just get $10 off your internet plan..

also if I do change tolls does the cheaper international rate from telecom's special number still apply? like instead of dialing "00" you dial something else to get cheaper rate.. don't know what exactly that is called..

..or maybe I'm just missing some common sense here..help please~

546023 2007-05-01 10:16:00 Before signing up to ihug have a look at xnet toll rates much cheaper than ihug.

546024 2007-05-01 10:27:00 Your toll (call rates internationally and nationally) changes according to each ISP's pricings.

And before changing to ihug, you may want to look at my thread:

546025 2007-05-01 12:06:00 so telecom's special calling rates will be gone I guess..
or pay $10 extra...um.

I'm only swapping to ihug for it's broadband 3 plan... no other ISPs offer something similar with that price

546026 2007-05-01 19:34:00 Telecom still charge you for line rental. Other than that, you become eligible for your new providers specials, but not Telecom specials

Your new provider takes over tolls etc

No! Don't go to Ihug.
Go to Xnet. That way you don't even have to change tolls if you don't want to, and there is no $10 penalty if you don't either.

Ihug is good for phone services but not for broadband.

546028 2007-05-02 02:13:00 I did mine to slingshot and all I got was a bill with my slingshot account with the tolls on it. Telecom sent me a package deal witha 'come back to us' notice (free cordless phone and cheaper rates) but in the end, it worked out cheaper with slingshot. rob_on_guitar (4196)
546029 2007-05-02 09:52:00 if I switch to xnet I guess I'll have to pay $60/month to get the type of plan I want
which is the same as ihug if I don't join their tolls..that's why I was concerned about the toll thing

sigh..damn woosh..now I might have to pay more $$/month for a plan with data cap..

546030 2007-05-03 22:12:00 I guess it only works out if you make toll calls or not. Since I dont I pay $49 for unlimited download speeds etc

So far no issues what so ever.
