But was interested in knowing if people eat porridge, or even eat breakfast i guess.......what they like and what brands are good........ Im not a big breakfast eater. which i should be, but usually in a hurry and off to work with kids in tow. so coffee on the go is more like. and if lucky coffee when i get to work too.:p But on a weekend morning i like to either have toast or sometimes porridge........i get those microwave ones specially for me sometimes .... and have regular porridge making stuff in cupboard for when rugrats want some. cant remember what brand of micro brand i get its in a blue cardboard box.......got given some other stuff.........made that today....... and er yeah i can see why it was given away and that was a vogels brand.:yuck: so breakfast anyone? :p flavours ? brands or just breakfast ideas? lol beetle |

I told him they were making me nausous (sp?) . He said take them with food and I asked "I should wait until dinner then?" I would kill for breakfast in bed just once before I shuffle off . . . could be the Simpsons PJ's that are the problem :stare: |

So never again. My ideal breakfast is a couple of bloody marias (tomato cocktail with tequilla) along with fried tomatoes, mushrooms, eggs, bacon and ham on buttered toasted croissants. |

| 547475 | 2007-05-06 00:54:00 | Nope. I had enough of the foul stuff forced down my throat as a kid. So never again. Such a pity. Porridge is really nice when made properly, but far too many people make watery salty crap. Porridge should be made with all milk and a bit of brown sugar instead of making it with water & salt & adding milk & sugar later. I usually have the Uncle Toby's microwave porridge because it is fast, convenient & tasty. |

So I just have some cereal, something like Sultana Bran, Cherrios, or Just Right. I can't stand microwaved porridge. it has to be made in the pot. My prefered brand of porridge is Flemmings Rolled Oats. |

| 547478 | 2007-05-06 01:13:00 | Funny how everyone has differing porridge tastes :) Here is my yummy porridge recipe: 1/4 metric cup of Jumbo Rolled Oats from Woolies. 2 desert spoons of oat bran. Liberally shaking of salt from salt cellar. Add water, amount judged by eye. First microwaving for 4 minutes on High, the amount of water has to be enough so the porridge does not go stodgy :) Add "Calcitrim" high calcium milk, and second microwave for 4 minutes. At this stage the porridge is creamy yet 'nutty'. After cooling sprinkle on raisins bought from Woolies, these are big fat juicy ones, not small miserable dried up stuff that some other supermarkets sell. |
