547678 2007-05-06 11:40:00 Thousands of songs bounce around in my head....

I am the one, Orgasmatron, the outstretched grasping hand
My image is of agony, my servants rape the land
Obsequious and arrogant, clandestine and vain
Two thousand years of misery, of torture in my name
Hypocrisy made paramount, paranoia the law
My name is called religion, sadistic, sacred whore.

I twist the truth, I rule the world, my crown is called deceit
I am the emperor of lies, you grovel at my feet
I rob you and I slaughter you, your downfall is my gain
And still you play the sycophant and revel in you pain
And all my promises are lies, all my love is hate
I am the politician, and I decide your fate

I march before a martyred world, an army for the fight
I speak of great heroic days, of victory and might
I hold a banner drenched in blood, I urge you to be brave
I lead you to your destiny, I lead you to your grave
Your bones will build my palaces, your eyes will stud my crown
For I am Mars, the god of war, and I will cut you down.

Woot,MOTORHEAD! Probably one of my favourite bands, if not for Slayer/Kreator/Carcass ^^

I don't particularly understand why, but my favourite song would be Raining Blood by Slayer (also incidentally, my favourite band), but it's probably more so by the way the words are projected and the guitaring throughout than the lyrics themselves :

Trapped in purgatory
A lifeless object, alive
Awaiting reprisal
Death will be their acquisition

The sky is turning red
Return to power draws near
Fall into me, the sky's crimson tears
Abolish the rules made of stone

Pierced from below, souls of my treacherous past
Betrayed by many, now ornaments dripping above

Awaiting the hour of reprisal
Your time slips away

Raining blood
From a lacerated sky
Bleeding its horror
Creating my structure
Now I shall reign in blood!

547679 2007-05-06 13:02:00 I'm like Metla thousands of songs bounce round in my head too. At the moment it is this one.

I read the news today oh boy
About a lucky man who made the grade
And though the news was rather sad
Well I just had to laugh
I saw the photograph
He blew his mind out in a car
He didn't notice that the lights had changed
A crowd of people stood and stared
They'd seen his face before
Nobody was really sure
If he was from the house of lords
I saw a film today oh boy
The English army had just won the war
A crowd of people turned away
But I just had to look
Having read the book
I'd love to turn you on.

547680 2007-05-06 13:10:00 Wonderland

Well the phone keeps ringing and I'm always here
Giving my opinion to whoever's there
Going round in circles, trying to stop the tears
Who do I think I'm kidding?
Who said life was fair?

Well we all are searching for our little piece of the great illusion, that elusive beast
Just a little romance in an ugly world
Who do I think I'm kidding?
There's no written word

We keep our secrets
Shut down the pain
Hide the strain

If we all believe in Wonderland why do we make it such a hell?
If we all believe in Wonderland how come it's lies we tell?
Do we still believe in miracles? If we can only find the key
Could it be there's a Wonderland?
Please, God, there's got to be.

Judie Tzuke

beetle, get the album "Wonderland" you won't be disappointed.

547681 2007-05-06 20:42:00 But a woman's needs are many fold
And Sue she married Ted
But strange things happened on their wedding night
As they lay in their bed
Was that the trees a rustling
Or the hinges of the gate
Or Ernies ghostly goldtop a rattling in their crate
They won't forget Ernie (Ernie)
And he drove the fastest milkcart in the west

547684 2007-05-06 23:54:00 That song sticks in my mind too, it is not the most cheerful song but I really like it. First heard it as part of the intro song to some TV drama so I googled some of the words to find out who it belonged to.

Gary Jules - Mad World
All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for their daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
Their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow

And I find it kinda funny
I find it kinda sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very mad world mad world

Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday
Made to feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen, sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me, no one knew me
Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson
Look right through me, look right through me

And I find it kinda funny
I find it kinda sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very mad world ... mad world
Enlarging your world
Mad world

At this point I need to recommend the movie "Donnie Darko" which used the above song. Good song good movie.

547685 2007-05-07 00:12:00 This one takes weeks to get out of my head (www.youtube.com)

As does

" Does your chewing gum lose its flavor on the bedpost overnight?
If your mother says don't chew it, do you swallow it in spite?
Can you catch it on your tonsils, can you heave it left & right?
Does your chewing gum lose its flavor on the bedpost overnight?"

547686 2007-05-07 01:18:00 Yes it is amazing what puts music into your head.
Last year I read the book the Abba Story. It took about 3 weeks to read and every night for 3 weeks I had Abba tunes spinning around in my head. I even dreamt Abba tunes and when I woke up I still had Abba tunes in my head. I even went out and bought Abba DVDs. And just by coincident Readers Digest sent me one of there catalogues and inside it was a 4 cd set of all of Abba's tunes, and you can guess I bought that too.
