My response
Greetings

Why thank you

The Cd was able to deliver drivers, "v" updates and a huge range of other useful but not gamer downloads for a long time before DVDs became the norm.
I also note that your website does not have an area for downloadables like it had.
Is it your intention to move away from this area of usefulness?

547146 2007-05-07 23:25:00 Stuff the July issue and all other issues. PCW is now on my "no Buy" list.

A couple of OZ mags will do me in the future.

Of course I'll have to check out ownership of the OZ ones first. No more of Unfaifax for me.

I am absolutely sure Mr. Jack G. that you can well remember back to when PC World did not come with a CD :)

Then they introduced the CD, but if you wanted it, it was an extra to subscribe to, I can't remember now how much it cost.

Then around May 2000 it came as a 'free' issue with the magazine.

But as with all freebies, as time goes by (dismuke.net), (oh that reminds me of a song), it becomes taken for granted, and regarded as a 'right' rather than a privilege :)

Copy to postYou got your answer, why did you have to reply to them and drag out your issue? Either buy the mag or don't.

547148 2007-05-08 01:33:00 Sorted now and they are looking for suggestions from you lovelys.
Hardly a drag out least we know what the happening.
If we dont tell them they cant fix it

No, on the contrary

We're planning to reintroduce the cover DVD from July, and welcome readers' suggests for possible content.
We currently have no download section of pcworld.co.nz, and no immediate plans to add one, though it is something we're considering.

Thanks

My notes re what suggestions for the relaunch of the dvd for july issue

yippee

Excellent
How about a retro edition for all of us who dare to be different.

A linux distro with a selection of drivers
(come on now everyone expand on this)
Open office

A win celebration of the great unsupported win 31->1
(afterthought maybee not) to w2000
Drivers, os floppy editions for 95, dos3? Dos5? Dos 6
This would keep all of those small purpose no bloatware machines running for another round
