742766 2009-01-28 19:31:00 What ive done is ive just recently installed eset nod32 in addition to my avg internet security. my question is. do these programs conflict at all? and is it advisable? once ive had it for a week ima keygen it if i think its ok....
yes i know its dodegy; but so what. as if you cant say your not that much of a tight-as$.....

i kinda need a bit of security for the sites i visit as some are *programming forums* forums. - yes i know im a nub, but im trying to learn how to make a page sniifer(i think thats the correct term)

Yes, they will conflict. No, it is not advisable. Please remove Nod32 immediately and use AVG unless you are prepared to fork out for Nod32. Piracy is not condoned on these forums. If you can't or won't pay for programs that are not freeware then don't use them.

742768 2009-01-28 20:24:00 If you're too much of a tight arse to shell out 19c a day for the best AV available then dump them both and get Avast.

AVGs not all that great anymore.

Don't pirate software, and never have more than one AV software installed at any one time.

742769 2009-01-29 03:19:00 It doesnt matter dumped nod32. cant be bothered w/ geting the keygen and it conflicts w/ my avg(which i used a keygen to get(and didnt hav 2 dl)

and yeah i dont mind not earning money for my software. the thing is the stuff i wanna do is for personal reasons; so its actually saving me money from the beginning

742770 2009-01-29 03:35:00 That made no sence at all mate.

Next time read the forum rules before posting about pirated software.

I wish Smitfraud upon you. :p

It wouldn't conflict if it was the only AV software on the machine!

If you really want to try NOD32, remove AVG and install NOD32 again and ask me nicely for a 3 month trial :D

742772 2009-01-29 04:40:00 so we have three issues here . . . . .

What ive done is ive just recently installed eset nod32 in addition to my avg internet security . my question is . do these programs conflict at all? and is it advisable?

never use more than one AV program, they often conflict .

once ive had it for a week ima keygen it if i think its ok . . . .
yes i know its dodegy; but so what . as if you cant say your not that much of a tight-as$ . . . . .

people on this forum take a very dim view of people who don't pay $$ for programs, I strong recomend you don't ask or talk about a keygen again .

i kinda need a bit of security for the sites i visit as some are *programming forums* forums . - yes i know im a nub, but im trying to learn how to make a page sniifer(i think thats the correct term)

I am not sure what you mean by a page sniifer, It sounds a bit hacker-ish .
as above, people around here are not hackers so don't ask or talk about such things .

if i have miss understood your request then feel free to correct me .

Just to qualify that a little, there are also plenty of legit uses for website scrapers (which I assume is what he's talking about). The main idea of them is to let your program interface with an existing web service to add functionality or retrieve data - an example is the way ChatF1 validates logins (it logs into PressF1 on your behalf to check if your username / password is valid).

I have no problem with a website scraper, I have made one myself .

a page sniffer sounds a bit more hacker-ish . . . . . .

742775 2009-01-29 09:59:00 Well the email notifications from the forum have just fired up again, hence the delay in responding to reported posts.

Long story short - thread closed, read forum rules.
