547479 2007-05-06 01:21:00 Funny how everyone has differing porridge tastes :)

Here is my yummy porridge recipe:

You go to all that trouble for breakfast?

If anything I'd be heading in Metla's direction . . . if it wasn't for the Metallica PJs clashing with my Bart one-piece :D

Every day, it only sounds complicated :)

Edit: whilst the porridge is cooking the 2 dogs and 2 cats are fed.

I bet she doesn't with a spread like that! You probably save heaps on expensive jewellery and stuff as well... sigh.

I guess I might as well get outa bed then, I know I've got a box of weevilated gluten-free cornflakes in the pantry somewhere :(

547483 2007-05-06 03:17:00 Perhaps you should start the day with Athol porridge (www.google.co.nz/search?hl=en&q=athol+porridge&btnG=Google+Search&meta=), beetle. That would put a smile on your face. Athol brose might be even healthier --- that has oatmeal added. :D Graham L (2)
547484 2007-05-06 03:18:00 During the week, my breakfast usually consists of four bits of Molenberg toast (the nice grainy stuff in the green bag if I can get it from the supermarket) with marmalade/jam/honey (manuka) and if it's a crust, vegemite. Side order of Berocca Performance to get my daily Vitamin C.

During the weekends when I have more time than I do during the week and at this time of the year, I have Creamota (fine ground) made as per the instructions on the side of the packet with a topping of brown sugar, big chunky raisins and a sprinkling of craisins. Cream if we have any, but usually just milk (better for you anyway!). Yum!

547485 2007-05-06 03:55:00 I love porridge but I love my Kornies/Light 'n Tasty mix even more so the latter nearly always wins the vote at breakfast time . My Mum makes really nice porridge though so I've put my order in for when I go up in a few weeks' time .

My preference is for the quick-cook rolled oats from the bulk bins . I don't like jumbo or large oats as I like mine to be nice and creamy . Like Greven I make mine with all milk and a bit of brown sugar, but I add a spoonful of sultanas while it's cooking as well .

How people can go without breakfast every day beats me - I look forward to mine and feel very deprived if I don't have any . :p

547486 2007-05-06 03:58:00 No porridge for me. I guess I did eat a lot of sugary watery crap. 2 bowls of Nutrigrain and a few sultanas on top or just cheese muffins or a bar of chocolate depending on how much time I have. beeswax34 (63)
547487 2007-05-06 04:09:00 Try some liquid honey on rolled oats instead of sugar for a real taste treat

547488 2007-05-06 04:40:00 Every morning - Two Weetbix and some cornflakes, milk and some brown sugar.
Then two slices of toast with Jam or Hazelnut spread and a glass of juice.

Don't know how people can drink coffee especially for breakfast
