547858 2007-05-07 01:37:00 Hi all

Just wondering what anyone would recommend here ... wanting to move the PS2 into the bedroom to use as a DVD player, but have discovered that it's locked to DVD Region 4 :stare: As I have a fair collection of R1 discs, this is unacceptable!

What (if any!) outfits would you recommend for "fixing" this "feature?" Any ideas on costing?

Thanks in advance!

547859 2007-05-07 02:00:00 Looking on the net, I found an item called DVD Region X.
It was more or less a memory card and a dvd disk that gets installed before bootup.

Here's the link from 2001 :xmouth: (www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk)

I am not sure if the comp still sells it today or not, but that was the closest you could get to a region free DVD on your PS2 without opening it.

547861 2007-05-07 21:38:00 Yeah Action replay does the trick very nicely - it also has this uncanny ability to help me get the special license, the last few driving mission's and an INSANE amount of credits for blowing on beat-up 80's cars in Gran Turismo 4 :D MAC_H8ER (5897)

the link DarkCypher shows has action replay max for $39.95 buy now - add maybe $2-3 shipping and it still work out cheaper - wont break 3 times after replacements (true story for me) and you can take it to a mates place and wont have to lug a dvd player with you

edit: i see he has $15 for shipping :O - my bad but i still say you can find it a lot cheaper :D
