744127 2009-02-02 04:27:00 I have used thunderbird for years, but my dad has used outlook and would like it set up differently.

Can you have different columns in the inbox/sent box etc.
At the moment he has "sender" column on, which means who he got it from in inbox but then his name over and over in the sentbox (useless). He wants "recipient" in sentbox, but if you enable this you also get it in the inbox, and it is his name over and over (again, useless)
So, in short he wants sender in inbox, recipient in sentbox, is this possible?

744129 2009-02-02 04:59:00 Sorry, didn't make it clear, he has used outlook previously (at work etc), but now at home I have got thunderbird for him, but he would like it setup more like outlook with the columns and a few other things I have managed to change for him with my knowledge of TB dirtbag (6060)
744130 2009-02-02 05:09:00 Right at the very right corner just above the vertical scroll bar in the same line as Sender you will see an icon you can click on to select columns to display. Safari (3993)

Top right there is an icon "Click to select columns to display" :)

I know this, but it doesn't allow independent settings for inbox/sentbox. If you set a column to display in one it will display in the other

It does up to a point. Sender can be selected for individual folders for example.
You can also drag columns so they are out of view.
