743999 2009-02-01 15:18:00 Hello all, I'm having a little problem with booting Windows XP.

(Note: Sorry if my english's not understandable in some parts, my mother tongue's Spanish)

Last night, I tried to change my WiFi connection by connecting the ruoter and PC with a cable. Thing is, when I turned on the PC, Windows wouldn't boot.

My first thought was that the registry was corrupted, so next thing I did was to boot Hiren to see if I could recover it. I opened the System32 folder, to copy the files needed to boot windows, only to find that the Config folder was nowhere to be seen.

Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

The last thing I came up with was to partition the hard disk and install windows there, but perhaps there's another way to solve this.

If anyone knows what would be the best solution for this, I'd really appreciate it if you could post it.

744000 2009-02-01 19:57:00 Hi chibiaki, welcome to PF1, try this and see if it works, try restoring the reg using system restore back to when the PC was working OK:

1.Boot into Safe mode with Command Prompt – Keep Pressing F8 at start-up then with the arrow keys select Safe mode with Command prompt.

2. At the command prompt, type C:\windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe <Press Enter>.

Follow the instructions given to perform the System Restore process.

When the PC attempts to boot, is there an error message, and if so what is it.

Also what version of the Hirens Boot CD are you using - the one I have is 9.6.

PS: your English is fine
