743540 2009-01-31 01:25:00 Can anyone help please.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A200 (PSAFCA) which came pre-installed with Vista.

I have had enough of this platform so I decided to nuke and load XP. I went to the Toshiba site and and downloaded all the XP drivers before doing so.

Problem is that the Toshiba Drivers do not recognise the NVidia video card, nor does any drivers from the NVidia site (tried several going back 18 months).

Microsoft Update does not help.

How do I find out the exact type of card I have (I am sure that it is a Go 7600) and get drivers to suit.

Thanks - Peter

743541 2009-01-31 04:48:00 By any chance did you back up the C:\SwSetup folder? Drivers are sometimes located in there jwil1 (65)
743542 2009-01-31 04:59:00 No I didn't (there wasn't a folder named that either). I mistakenly thought that as I had downloaded all the 'correct' drivers for XP I wouldn't have to worry about the Vista drivers.

BTW, i did download the Vista video drivers from the Toshiba site but no luck with them either.

I know that there are two hidden drives on the notebook - how do I see what's in them? perhaps I can get something from there to help.

Thanks.

743543 2009-01-31 05:45:00 Is it Gforce N7300?

I think I have the driver for XP, remembered I encountered the same problem with this A200 and I downloaded the display driver from a third party site. PM me you would like to try it.

Thanks bk T, the drivers work like a charm. I will save them for future reference.
