Why don't they just state what patents are being violated instead of creating FUD.

Not that MS would be willing to admit it of course ;).If you can't compete then either sue or attempt to smoother anything that resembles competition rather than trying to build a better product yourself.

MS first needs to indicate where (if at all) the code violations occour. Once found, open sourcers will rewrite the code to remove violations.
