743412 2009-02-06 06:53:00 Uninstall the video drivers (both of them) in add/remove programs

Then use something like drivercleaner pro to get rid of the rest of it

Then reinstall the drivers

743413 2009-02-06 09:18:00 1) I followed your instructions and uninstalled the video drivers.
2) I installed SP2.
3) I installed motherboard drivers.

All going good.

4) I ran the downloaded latest video NVIDIA drivers.

It again, begins to disconnect/reconnect.

743414 2009-02-06 09:28:00 Sounds like the drivers break something / or you have to configure a setting somewhere Speedy Gonzales (78)
743415 2009-02-06 09:38:00 I am pretty new to 3D video cards.
There is a NVIDIA task bar, I have changed the settings, and they don't help. I have turned them off or towards performance than quality.

If you open the NVIDIA control panel, there is that smoothing setting only .. with that scroll bar and the rest seems like just information or guides.

I am thinking of doing a RMA - not sure how that works. I'll look into it, may get a ATI.

743416 2009-02-11 21:07:00 Now I am really lost. The store was really good that they were ok to do a swap and me pay the difference, so I got a ATI and get away form Nvidia if that helps at all.

I have used the CD drivers, latest ASUS dowloaded drivers and the latest at the time Jan 2009 nvidia.com drivers and they did the same thing. The store couldn't fault it.

Now I hope it not happens on the ATI.
What else can be wrong with it? I have received a new LCD from Dell, a new DVI cable that I bought. Or maybe it is just a flaw in the LCD with some video cards? Or a issue simply of incompatibility? Or would it be the case that the monitor I have is more towards graphics and less to the games market that is not work that well with gaming cards but more towards the workstation graphics (Quadro or FireGL) LCD is a Dell 24" widescreen ultrasharp.

ASUS motherboard, previously ASUS video card, Dell screen, G-Skill RAM, LG DVDRW that is all is on it. Contact electricity.

743417 2009-02-11 21:32:00 Dont forget to uninstall the Nvidia drivers before you install the ATI drivers

I would use Drivercleaner to remove them after you've uninstalled them

It doesnt matter what you do on an LCD, play games / whatever

Otherwise, you would have to use a separate LCD

743418 2009-02-12 00:50:00 Could it be that the monitor I have works better with a Quadro or FireGL card? Or simply incompatibility .

Anyway, will report back after I get the ATI .
