550233 2007-05-16 11:26:00 Smacking bill passed in the last hour!!

Stupid onanist politicians.

What do the rest of you think

KenHad to look it up! :) I'll have to remember that one - much more sophisticated than saying "anchor with a w"... :D

And in this case, most appropriate...

550234 2007-05-16 19:42:00 It is really not about the smacking - although it is a load of old bollocks in my opinion!

It is the fact that it is really bad law with no substance where every case has the possibility to be actioned by police, and then tried in court. Then decided by the judge on what he thinks is right or wrong. (Small smack or big smack. Duh!!!)

What a load of crap, and a good indicator of how stupid our well paid politicians are. Laws like this deserve nothing more than being treated with contempt.

Ken

PS I'm an old codger. Don't know everything - just been there, done that.

550235 2007-05-16 19:42:00 Would being an onanist (aka monkey spanker, aka unemployed hand shaker) also be illegal now the anti-spanking law has passed  :p

Guess we're going to see a lot more men 'handing themselves' in; might also see some women 'fingering' others or themselves

550236 2007-05-16 21:23:00 I grew up with a father that would come home from his dead end job which he hated, in a really foul mood. The slightest thing would earn me a severe beating. He was angry and frustrated with his own life and took it out on me. He once admitted that once he'd given me a thrashing he felt much better.

If this new law goes even a small way to reducing the kind of sh!t that I had to put up with as a kid then it has my vote.

That was quite common in the '40-50's when I was a kid. Not good at all.

Do you really think that this new law will solve the problem. The old Section 59 law would have applicable in your circumstances. Although in my era, it was a fact of life and the law would have been told to "bugger off, I'll discipline my child how I think fit"

I am railing against the 'stupid, stupid bunch of politicians' who are scared for their list standings with an election coming up. If you were one and Helen came to you and said "We have to support 'Smacker Bradford' or they won't support us for money matters. We will drop you down on the list if you don't" What would you do?

This now applies to the maori party after copeland's defection last night.

Look to more STUPID law being passed.

Sorry about the rant

It will be interesting to see whether it does.

550240 2007-10-28 19:44:00 Just as we all predicted.........

Time to vote out this anti-family farce otherwise known as a Government with their idealistic policies. Like the Bill has actually reduced child abuse....not. As was said right from the beginning, it is targeting the wrong people.

550242 2007-10-28 21:13:00 I apologise to the few intelligent politicians for lumping them all together.

Unfortunately, most of them prove that intelligence is not a pre-requisite for becoming an MP
