| 549104 | 2007-05-13 07:24:00 | Was phoned by a local girl as she had signed up with Xtra dialup and was getting no dial tone when she tried to connect. She rang the helpdesk (now in the Phillipines) and was told that it is because her PC runs Win98 and that is too old for all this digital stuff and she would need to upgrade to a newer version of Windows. Just try contacting the Microsoft or BT helpdesk in Scotland-you have to pay for a bloody toll call to some site in India for heavens sake!! (this is btopenworld we are talking about here) i.e British Telecom. She is running XP Pro with all the updates, got some minor problem and after an hour on the phone with this brain dead clown who could barely speak English she simply gave up in disgust (no disrespect to our Indian friends in NZ) and eventually solved the problem herself with a little help. Anyone want to hazard a guess as to why the help desks canot be sourced within the country of origin? Doesn't take too much grey matter to work it out. Three or so months ago I contacted M/Sucks regarding a problem which they were very well aware of and would get back to me within 7 working days-still waiting! Regards Gordon. |
