743458 2009-01-30 22:11:00 Hey.

I know you guys have been the best help in the past and i hope you're going to help me through this.

I have a Dell Inspiron T1525,working fine up untill now.

Yesterday i was transfering and renaming some pics from Documents to another folder on C and i suddenly got the folder not responding and a blue screen.I immediately rebooted, and it said that fltmgr.sys failed to load.It did this after every reboot.

I tried it an hour later and this time ntfs.sys couldn't load, but after 2-3 more reboots the PC finally loaded into normal mode.It took 10 minutes to load and whenever i tried to refresh it froze up,so no good.

Now i can boot in safe mode, but i have no idea what's causing this.

I use Vista Ultimate.

Any help appreciated.

Type sfc/scannow in a prompt, if Vista has it

743460 2009-01-30 22:19:00 I'm actually live with one of those helpers from Microsoft and he got me to disable my display drivers and sound drivers then reboot, and now it's working better, still loads hard, but working decently.

I'll keep you posted, maybe it's a driver problem after all,any other suggestions would be grand though.

Speedy,if you can explain exactly where and how i do that,i am now in a normal windows vista ultimate boot.

743463 2009-01-30 23:04:00 To run system file check, simply click on the start Orb , and start typing sfc /scannow , once typed in hit the enter key, and a black box will pop up and start scanning your Computer - it may take some time. NOTE: the gap between the c /s

The other option is to run system restore back to when the PC was going OK.

743464 2009-01-30 23:33:00 You need to do this in Vista (else it wont run)

(For VISTA, go to Start and type in the above information, then go to the top of the box and right click on SFC.EXE /SCANNOW and select "Run As Administrator")

Never used the admin of that yet and never had one not run - well apart from when the system was totally screwed, But wont hurt I spose.

743466 2009-01-30 23:39:00 Perhaps you've got UAC turned off ;)
Definitely wont work on mine unless I do post #7, tried it several times.
