550434 2007-05-16 22:35:00 Just had a major problem with a Sony HDD/DVD recorder, like it just died 15 months after purchase with a 12 month guarantee:angry

So I contacted Sony direct as I purchased direct from them. Quick response send it down to them.

It came back fully repaired freight paid BOTH ways and a docket in the box showing they had put $160 worth of parts, plus labour, plus freight.

Total charge to me $0.00:) :) 10 out of 10 Sony well done:thumbs: :thumbs:

Mate of mine had his Xbox 360 die with whats apparently a semi-common problem with the motherboards? Happened the night his warranty expired, a sunday, and it happened at about 10:15PM.. the helpdesk from where he bought it apparently closes at 10.

Poor fella was in quite a pickle, they werent even wanting to honor that :-/

I like your story, we need more like it in the world ;)

Thats good, but they are doing what they are obilgated to do under the CGA. The manufacturers warrenty is really irrelevent, as the goods have to last a reasonable period of time, which could be up to 5 years.
