| 744851 | 2009-02-04 09:00:00 | Hey i just bought an ASUS 160GB USB powered external harddrive. Its got a leather cover and eSata conections. Its got two USB ports and its partitioned into two drives. But I can't find any documentation on it anywhere - or any reviews or even places that sell them... So I'm just wondering if anyone could help? Thanks in advance |

For some laptops, the drive will not work with just the connection USB port plugged in, it will need the power USB port also. For other laptops however, it will work without the USB power cable. And the partitions-If you don't like having two partition go to disk management(Run>Diskmgmt.msc) then right click each of the two partitions and select "Delete" for both. Then, right click the unallocated free space and select "New Simple Volume" (or something similar) then, name it and format it as NTFS. Blam |
