| 744326 | 2009-02-03 01:38:00 | Just saw This update (support.microsoft.com) It lets you format external hdd's / flash drives in Exfat By the looks of it, its the successor to FAT32 BUT, if you format a flash drive, you wont be able to use readyboost in Vista (If you dual boot). BUT, Windows 7, by the looks of it will work, if you use a flash drive in this format |

| 744328 | 2009-02-03 02:36:00 | I've formatted my 8GB SDHC card as exFAT, just because I could. :p I copied the drivers from Vista to XP, then saw that update. :o:blush: Yes the best thing about this format is no more 4gb max file limit. According to Wikipedia it has the same 16 exbibyte size limit of NTFS. :D Although exFAT's year limit is 2107, whereas NTFS is 60056 (useless fact of the day :nerd:) |
