He had a couple of musicians, Red Ingle and Wilbur Hall who had played with Bix Beiderbecke in the Goldkette and Whiteman orchestras respectively in 1927/28. The trumpet player was George Rock. Red Ingle also had his own wacky band, recording such sides as "Sloppy Lagoon", and "Cigarettes and Whisky" in the late 1940s. One of my favourite Spike Jones songs is "Der Fuhrer's Face" (www.jazz-on-line.com) |
