| 551511 | 2007-05-23 22:26:00 | ................... what does it matter how long emo's have been around for? they've been around ever since the beginning of "the emotional hardcore scene", an offshoot from punk music over 10 years ago. just ask any emo.............. Although "10 years ago" is nothing compared to the length of time humans have cursed this planet, that's longer than i was aware of that trend. I must say your fashion knowledge far outweighs mine! Bravo! However whatever fashion label you apply explains nothing. It merely diverts from issues by helping people to write others off and decide what hairstyle they should have. I won't be mounting a hunt for "emo's" in order to clarify these "facts" |

| 551519 | 2007-05-24 13:52:00 | "what does all this have to do with self harm and a self injury project?" Pretty obvious really, what is missing in these young people's lives is a sense of community, caring, love and the promise of a future not revolving around an eternal scrabbling for the last dollar and low level survival of the fittest which does us no credit as the top species on the planet. | 551520 | 2007-05-24 14:27:00 | oh.... i actually agree with that. do you think another factor is how many western teenagers (and westerners in general) do not fully understand/realise their own fortune? many wallow in depression because their boyfriend dumped them or they got a poor test result, whereas teens in say, africa, may be parents, starving, diseased and trying to survive an HIV crisis. we don't realise how lucky we are (and why we should do more to help others - including the less fortunate on our own soil, let alone 3rd world citizenry) |
