IF you don't change the location of the EXE file, it will by default try to download from the Internet - Heres the path to run from CD (www.imagef1.net.nz) with optical drive being D: - I timed it, it took 20 seconds from hitting install to starting to install.

I thought it should run faster than from local HDD rather than from CD? I should try it from CD and see how it goes. The path I specified is similar to yours as I copied everything to partition D: as I was thinking that it will run faster from HDD!

You are right you would think it should run faster from the HDD - I actually tried that when I first started using it - Now I don't know if it was doing something wrong, but it was slow as a wet week - Running it from the CD made huge speed improvements - next trick is to see about over the LAN from one of my servers.:nerd::D

Hint: one thing I did find, it pays to get the name of the file exact - kind of works better that way

You mean, don't rename the .exe files? I renamed all the files to make it easier for me to type it in.

744535 2009-02-26 18:40:00 1) Is Windows Vista shipped with Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0?
2) Since InstallPad is dependent on having actual pathway specified, any ideas if the hard disk in the modern fleet of Dell laptops is partitioned into C: and D:?

Cheers :)

744536 2009-03-03 19:31:00 This could be pretty useful, but is there a way to install updates to say Spybot,on a pc with no internet connection? Could you add files to your CD from an up-to-date pc and run as a .bat file and overwrite whatever folders etc need to be updated as part of your installation routine in Installpad?
Hope I'm making sense, don't know if its possible.( ...To do the update thing, not for me to make sense,... lost cause)
