744473 2009-02-03 08:52:00 sometimes the plastics of the pins misaligned themselves and get pushed into the holes anyways, which makes them spread out wider and make it hard to put in again.

You probably don't get me, so I'll take a pic of my stuffe up intel one and post it here

744474 2009-02-03 09:20:00 I can get all 4 pins in easy BUT do all the pins have to look like the first pin if u look underneath the motherboard.

The first pin clicks in easy with a loud clicking sound. If you look at the pin come through the hole/mobo underneath the mobo the black center is fully showing. If I run my finger along the pin at the bottom the white>black>white order is all one level. There is no ditch my finger falls down into. But If I then try to install the rest now of them look or feel like the same pin looking from underneath the motherboard.

Do all the pins have to look like the first pin where you push it down? Cause only the first pin is pushed down the furtherest.

Would it be possible to of damaged the cpu with the ammount of times and ammount of pressure/force ive be applying to these pins? Trying to get them to push through the equal ammount.

Like is the cpu pins/holes on the other side continually been pushed down against the socket pins causing damage? How does it look close up?

744475 2009-02-03 09:28:00 If I were you, I'd go and buy a cheap aftermarket cooler, and put yourself out of all this!!

The Intel stock HS is pretty rubbish anyway, if adequate :)

744476 2009-02-03 09:40:00 Any one know where I can get a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme With fan, the cheapest? Is it better to get it with a fan? Cheapest I saw was around $133 with fan at c1 shop. And I think $107 at Ifocus with out the fan.

Or any other suggestions on a non push pin cooler?

I was only hoping to spend around $40-60

744477 2009-02-03 09:57:00 Cheapest is at iFocus at $107. I got mine for $99 when it was on special at PlayTech a few weeks ago.

Most usually they don't come with a 12cm fan. You have to see what fan is included at C1. If it's crap get the non-fan package at iFocus and buy a decent fan.

For $60 non-push pin? Can't think of any. You may be able to find a second hand Zalman 9700 or something on TM.

744479 2009-02-04 00:38:00 Probably around $40-$50 at a guess, depending on the quality and brand. jwil1 (65)

I've got two of these (www.ifocus.co.nz) in my machine very powerful and quiet.

I've got a SilenX 120x120x25 fan with a CFM rating of 72. It's pretty quiet, and though I have to say it's definitely not 72CFM, it does move quite a bit of air. I think it's $40ish at modyourpc.

People also recommend Scythe S-Flex fans. They're about $35 I think.

744482 2009-02-06 07:31:00 Hows this look Thermalright Ultra-120 extreme With Fan Evercool 120mm EC12025M12B for $103

Hows the fan? I thought if it wasnt that great I could put a second fan on and therefor 2 would be better then one.

Though I still think im paying too much for a heatsink. Should I drop down to a Ultimat-90 $73.

One question. Does anyone know if there are differernt versions of the Thermalright Ultra-120 extreme, such as a newer version/revision. Cause Ifocus had 2 of these coolers on their site one for $107 and another for $130. I emailed them and they said the dearer one was a new model...
