551627 2007-05-21 08:19:00 Thanks for the link Hitech .

Seems they are all out of stock at the moment .

paulw, if they're selling them in NZ already (as per Hitech's link), does that mean they have a firmware update maybe to let them work in our country?

Yes . That would be a fair assumption .

If you get one let us all know . . :-)

551628 2007-05-21 09:29:00 for those who want to run both sky and free veiw (ie 2nd decoder in a nother room) you could set up a dual LNB and run both off the same cable. it works provided they can fit on and they don't use the exact same signal.

godfather... i'm suprised its that touchy. check you dish isn't a little warped.

551630 2007-05-21 11:07:00 Prime is not on Freeview at the moment & no one knows if & when it will.

It was in the interview they did with PC world. Prime will never come to freeview satellite, but it will be on freeview terrestrial next year.

551631 2007-05-21 11:46:00 You are wrong i rung freeview and they told me that those news channels and such will be encrypted. Hitech (9024)
551632 2007-05-21 12:18:00 You are wrong i rung freeview and they told me that those news channels and such will be encrypted.

If that is the case, to view the encrypted channels, will the set top box then need a CI slot that will accept a CAM?

The box does not have the ability to view an encrypted channel of any type.

How about you join the Freeview mailing list if you want some proper info.

551634 2007-05-21 20:38:00 more than likely it will need a cam but i suspect that wont happen until next year when freeview goes to HD on the terrestrial service. Hitech (9024)
551635 2007-05-21 21:52:00 apsattv, that's my little project at the moment . Instead of spending a few hundred dollars on a box that will become a door stop in 12 months or so time, spend a bit more (well maybe quite a bit more ) on a box that will see me out for at least a couple of years .

FreeTv is starting to seem not so free at the start up .

Selling my plan to the "dragon" is a whole other kettle of fish . . . . . .
Breezzee (2913)
551636 2007-05-21 22:10:00 Just tell the dragon your aerial is stuffed and the reception is poor and that you have to get freeview for better reception, otherwise she might give you a bad reception.   Hitech (9024)
