744722 2009-02-04 09:39:00 The stupid thing is that there won't be many XP machines that can handle the specs of 7 especially when it comes to the graphics requirements.

You are better to clean install from vista or buy/build a 7 capable machine
Win7 Beta runs well on my old AthlonXP 2500/FX5700 video, faster than XP does; dont know what it'll be like when its finished though (:sleep?)

744723 2009-02-04 09:59:00 I actually think its a great idea requiring that they do a clean install, whilst offering a discounted upgrade price.

Besides, XP machines cant run and run and run and run forever ... when format time comes, if you want to: Upgrade
If you dont want to: Dont upgrade!

Simple.

744724 2009-02-04 19:02:00 I want to upgrade of course, I have heard great things about Windows7 and I just downloaded it to try myself (never done that with a MS product in beta before).
I am just not keen on giving MS more money than I have too.

744725 2009-02-04 21:42:00 ;) Better you get a discounted version for already having XP / Vista, than having to pay full retail price, right? :D Chilling_Silence (9)
