2009-02-04 02:54:00 | So you're after something like this? www.ubergizmo.com I use ones you can get from the Warehouse for approx $35, they're in a square container with tiny feet on either side. Works brilliant for my desktop :D thnks chilling silence! that is exactly what i am after, but just the fan, not the stand. Im a DIY man and i wanted to build the stand myself. you said they sell that in the warehouse for $35? that is a bit too good to be true..or did i misunderstand you?

2009-02-04 03:40:00 | Yeah, these are BIG-as fans though, like 30CM+ I'll take a photo of the box tonight, I bought two ... Unfortunately they require hooking up to mains, but if you're a tinkerer then you might be able to have some fun with USB powering ;)

2009-02-04 09:04:00 | what about a car radiator fan? they run on fairly low volts so i believe | hueybot3000 (3646) | |

2009-02-04 18:45:00 | LOL that fan is way too thick LOL, right diameter though. :D I think what I want is not available in the market, so I will have to use our university's CNC machine to make one of those big but thin fans, so I can put it in my laptop stance. I currently have a wooden one with 4 fans, but I wanted a better looking one. how do I put pictures on? I will take a photo and show you. :D thnks chilling silence, and everyone who helped.

2009-02-05 01:03:00 | A bigger fan can move the same amount of air as a smaller one, at a slower speed and hence with less noise. However, if you want more air moved than a smaller fan then you may get an increase in noise
