2009-02-03 22:29:00 | Just made a new version of that Installpad Latest install set (www.imagef1.net.nz) - Got ccleaner to install Silently - was looking last night and spyware terminator sometimes causes problems if installed silently. Malware bytes - no prompts, Total Install time, not including any updates - timed at 2 minutes 15 seconds. | wainuitech (129) | |
2009-02-04 00:11:00 | That's mint and would save a lot of time not to mention you could just run it and come back 5 min later. I'm definitely try that tonight with seatools and memtest.

2009-02-04 00:34:00 | Just an update in the list I made - for some reason SuperAntispyware wont run on some PC's from that program ??? The others are fine. Q_Man - some of the programs still need you to click Yes etc, others dont. Ccleaner didn't install silent on the first one I made, but after adding in the /S in the installer Arguments Box it installed silent, no prompts.

2009-02-04 03:02:00 | If you install CCleaner silently does it also install the Yahoo toolbar? Just checked and Yes It did - I say DID , because a quick trip to the Add/remove programs and bye bye tool bar. ;) The silent install on any program, it loads in the programs default settings.

2009-02-04 05:30:00 | Isn't CCleaner just a single executable with a settings file? You cold just copy the executable and pop it on. It should just recreate it's own ini file.

2009-02-06 23:13:00 | Got just the program - only found it in the weekend - Still playing with it, but some of the programs dont allow silent install, but hows this - Spybot, Malwarebytes, Spyware terminator, Ccleaner, Izarc ( Zip program) in about 2 minutes.( TOTAL) The program is called InstallPad ( The default apps can be removed and you add in what ever ones you want. Heres the first one I did as a trial (http://www.imagef1.net.nz/files/First_one.jpg" target="_blank">installpad.com/) - by default it downloads the latest versions from the internet, BUT you can change it to load from a CD (like I did) look at the Link on the bottom saying Adding new applications. The default apps can be removed and you add in what ever ones you want. Heres the first one I did as a trial (http:) You need to type in the EXACT name of the exe file other wise it wont work. Heres what I did to get it to run from CD - made a Folder called it Installs, there I dumped all the exe files for the programs , then on install pad, in the path to files, added in what it was, for Ccleaner it was file:///D:/Installs/ccsetup216.exe Then when burning the CD, added Installpad at the root of the CD, with the install folder second CD Layout (www.imagef1.net.nz) - I spose you could also make an autorun if you wanted for installpad. Downside to making it on CD is the optical drive HAS to be what ever you put in the location file, usually D. some programs will silent install others wont - while installing the programs, Ccleaner needed next , next etc, BUT Malwarebytes and spybot were doing their thing silently in the background - when ccleaner finished the other two had finished installing already. and it FREE :banana Downloaded and tried it but found it to be pretty slow. It takes a while to read the .exe file even from local hard disk! I still have to click Next, Next, etc for Malwarebytes, though. For example, Acrobat Reader 8, it takes ages just to read the file (23MB)! It's much quicker to install it manually one by one. Don't know why it takes such a long time just to read the file? Or, maybe I've done something not right??

Don't know why it takes such a long time just to read the file? Or, maybe I've done something not right?? Some of the programs you do have to still click next , next etc, it does say that on the site, as not all programs will run silently . Ccleaner wouldn't until I put in the /S option As Shown ( . imagef1 . net . nz/files/Ccleaner_Option . jpg" target="_blank">www . imagef1 . net . nz) - As for being slow - its not really meant to be run from the Main HDD Drive - its meant to be installed from a stand alone, or over a network or Internet . If it was made to do a Once only - thats a bit pointless - it has a good time saving if you are installing on Multi PC's all the time . Normally it can easily take 15 -30 minutes to install This Lot ( . imagef1 . net . nz/files/Install_Pad . jpg" target="_blank">www . imagef1 . net . nz) (with the exception Of Adobe -:yuck: it was to test your comment ) - I do them almost every day - so far I've used it 4 times on customers PC's longest time taken, even with having to click Next , next, with multi programs - 3 minutes From start to finish . (not including any updates of course) I remade the Installs, and Included Adobe Reader as pictured above - then burnt to CD, changed the path and it went in perfectly - Mind you I wouldn't use adobe - its turned into BLOAT ware - Foxit Reader is much better . IF you don't change the location of the EXE file, it will by default try to download from the Internet - Heres the path to run from CD ( . imagef1 . net . nz/files/Adobe1233981581 . jpg" target="_blank">www . imagef1 . net . nz) with optical drive being D: - I timed it, it took 20 seconds from hitting install to starting to install . |
