550980 2007-05-19 22:09:00 There might be a slight amount of misinformation there about M+S tires in the US.

So you know a bit about tyres then SF46 :D

I think we expect too much for people to know what are their tyres are suitable for. There are alot of people that just drive the car. To them a tyre is black and thats it. They rely on "professionals" to advise them (until it costs them money) to what is safe. I have probably run mismatched tyres on my car at times but I do not push it very hard at all. My motorcycle gets an easy life too (no snow tyres for that).

Want to give PF1 members a discount ;) The freight would add to much to the cost.

Hold you, you sell left hand drive tyres, not the right hand drive ones we have here

Don't forget, his northern hemisphere tires will go flat at the top here, that is a good feature (unless you are trying to get under an obstacle). Also, the seasonal differences put his snow tires in the summer category for us.:groan:

Maybe getting a drivers license should involve some education in some of these things, including how to change a tyre, and and basic engine knowledge. People do take cars far too much for granted, without really understanding how they work.
I have seen far too many people spin out on roads because they don't know how fast they can go around corners in various road conditions.

550985 2007-05-20 04:09:00 These snow tyres would usually be put on 4wd vehicles, I'd suspect. They make the shopping trolley look much more impressive than ordinary tyres.

Everyone knows that drivers of 4wds are perfectly safe in all conditions, especially if they have a hundredweight or so of bull bars front and back.
