We have a rule against using avatars with images that denigrates religions, so surely you must of realised your link to that image would be a no-go however personally amusing you find it] ...must HAVE realised... | 550825 | 2007-05-18 18:05:00 | [QUOTE=roddy_boy;552314]...must HAVE realised... I am glad you pointed that out, it has been annoying me for some time as "of" gets used incorrectly quite frequently and not just by Jen. I might be a small thing but it really stands out as being so obviously incorrect and grates on the nerves when reading posts. |

| 550827 | 2007-05-19 02:31:00 | I am glad you pointed that out, it has been annoying me for some time as "of" gets used incorrectly quite frequently and not just by Jen . I might be a small thing but it really stands out as being so obviously incorrect and grates on the nerves when reading posts . I am glad that you have also pointed out how annoying this particular habit is . Since you have criticised others for incorrect spelling and grammar at least twice this week I am now drawing your attention to what really grates on my nerves, namely the recent common habit of people adding apostrophes to words that should not have them . Here are some examples: Save the attachments and then attach them to a new message . If the photo's were sent inline and not as an attachment you will need to forward as HTML and not plain text . Xtra blocks access to pop3 if you are connecting from outside their network . They are one of the few ISP's who do this as most ISP's allow you to access pop3 from any connection . Xtra does offer Secure-remote email which allows access to Xtra's secure pop server (pop3r . xtra . co . nz) but there is an extra cost for this . Ojos - I suggest if you need a NZ email address and you want to use it with webbox you close your Xtra account and sign up with any of the other NZ ISP's who will allow pop3 access for your mail from any network . Why don't you try it on the PC and find out . Do other DVD's work ok on the DVD player . A little bit of logical thinking here would isolate the problem . That is not what you said initially . "So cd's rip in WMA format then i have to import them in itunes and convert them to MP3" Do what Billy T says . "Why aren't you ripping the CDs straight to MP3 in iTunes" I am really surprised that you have picked up and succumbed to this bad, incorrect grammar, Safari, considering your habit of nit-picking other people's spelling and grammatical errors . I really thought you would know better than this . It's not like they are typo errors either, you only need to do a search on this forum to find many more just like them . In case you didn't know, the apostrophe has three uses: 1) to form possessives of nouns 2) to show the omission of letters 3) to indicate certain plurals of lowercase letters . Apostrophes are NOT used for possessive pronouns or for noun plurals, including acronyms . If you are doubting the wisdom of my words perhaps this page ( . wikihow . com/Use-Apostrophes" target="_blank">www . wikihow . com) may help convince you, otherwise do a search on Google for further proof . I suggest that you take more care to set a good example and learn correct grammar yourself if you are going to continue picking on others for their mistakes . Note, too, that you have a typo in your original post in this thread . People in glasshouses shouldn't throw stones . |

Thanks for pointing that out FoxyMX, I don't pretend to be perfect but I feel the need to point out obviously incorrect and annoying habits. You have now done the same so I can now amend my ways and hopefully we have all learnt something in the process. Isn't that what criticism is all about, how is anyone to learn and change bad habits if their mistakes are not pointed out. |

I agree with you but most people don't wish to have their mistakes pointed out and certainly not when they are pointed out in a derogatory manner as many of your posts are . To go off topic somewhat, I would appreciate it if you could refer to me by my current rather than former forum name, please . |
