| 744906 | 2009-02-04 20:36:00 | I have a HP DX6100 MT, and the one IDE channel seems to have stopped working, Nothing is detected (both the second hard drive and the DVDROM are non exsistent) I have changed cables, no pins are broken anywhere, one minute it was working but now it isnt. It does have SATA, so i can get it to work, just i cant install anything via the optical drive or use the secondary 200GB hard drive, any ideas? |

| 744909 | 2009-02-04 20:45:00 | i restored the default settings in the BIOS (knowing me i prob changed something) but that didnt do any difference, It doesnt appear to detect anything yet if i boot into the OS the IDE channel (yes one) is there without issues. | aidanmaz (7180) | ||
| 744910 | 2009-02-05 01:06:00 | Does that second hard drive spin up when connected to the IDE? If it will only spin up when disconnected then something is very wrong with your IDE controller or cable. | Agent_24 (57) | ||
| 744911 | 2009-02-05 01:53:00 | no it spins up when turned on, also the dvdrom powers up as normal (checked the jumpers, DVD - master, drive - slave | aidanmaz (7180) | ||
