745606 2009-02-07 05:36:00 Hello everyone,

Since I just settled NVIDIA drivers on my Ubuntu 8 . 04 LTS, I wanted to test-drive the performance of my graphics card under Ubuntu . I recently installed Unreal Tournament 2004 Editor's Choice Edition, and the installation went quite well with the shifting discs . However, when I try to run ut2004 in the root directory, nothing happens . When I run it in the terminal, it gives me such error messages:

. /ut2004 . bin: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++ . so . 5: cannot open shared object file . No such directory .

What happened? What isn't there? Could anyone help? Thanks .

yum install compat-libstdc++

745608 2009-02-07 06:11:00 yum?

I thought Ubuntu used apt-get
If the yum line fails, try "sudo apt-get install compat-libstdc++"

745609 2009-02-07 10:08:00 It should already be installed - if I remember correctly, this issue is caused by a missing symlink. Symlinking the library to the correct name or copying / symlinking the library into the ut2004 folder should fix it. Erayd (23)
