| 745410 | 2009-02-06 03:52:00 | As per Wikipedia's entry on Hiren's boot CD - Legality (en.wikipedia.org): There are many freeware and abandonware applications included on the boot CD; however, the CD also includes multiple pirated copyrighted programs from companies such as Symantec and Acronis to name a few. Due to the inclusion of pirated copyrighted works, Hiren's Boot CD is legally considered "warez" and pirated intellectual property; downloading and/or possessing the CD has various legal implications according to the persons global location such as violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act in the USA. Regardless on how helpful this is, or who else uses it, asking for help with pirated software is against the forum rules. |
